What does PluralEyes do?
PluralEyes automatically synchronizes audio and video clips even when no timecode is available. This eliminates a tedious and time-consuming step when editing multicamera and dual-system audio productions.
How can this possibly work?
PluralEyes analyses the audio of the clips to determine how they line up.
Why would I want to use PluralEyes?
Watch this.
Does my audio quality have to be top-notch?
No. PluralEyes can work with a wide range of quality and characteristics of the recorded audio. If the audio in the clips you are synchronizing sounds approximately the same to you (and often when it doesn't), PluralEyes should be able to successfully use it.
What if my clips don't overlap?
Each group of overlapping clips is put into its own sequence and its own multiclip. Clips that do not sync with any other clip are put into a special sequence called pluraleyes 000 unsynced.
What if my clips fall into two or more groups, where there is overlap within the group, but not between groups?
Each group of overlapping clips is put into its own sequence (called pluraleyes ### synced) and multiclip.
What if one of the cameras was turned on and off? Is that OK?
Yes. This is no problem for PluralEyes and is one of the situations where it can save a lot of time.
I have a master audio track with no video. Can PluralEyes handle that?
Yes. This is sometimes called dual-system audio. PluralEyes can be a big help for replacing scratch audio recorded in-camera with high-quality audio from an external recorder.
